Continuing a Successful Tradition
Gary Newquist, Executive Committee member

The SJSU Judo Team and Executive Committee thanks you for your support of the SJSU Judo Program. The Judo Executive Committee members include:

Keith Nakasone, Yosh Uchida, Michael Swain, John Kawamoto, Marius Popescu, Dan Kikuchi, Chuck Jefferson, Gary Newquist, Lydia Uchida Sakai, Dr. Bob Nishime, and Richard Norona, Director.

Over the last year SJSU Judo has received contributions from our esteemed Alumni, the Annual Golf Tournament, earnings on the SJSU Judo Endowment, and the allocations from the SJSU Associated Students.

Since 1999, when Head Coach Yosh Uchida asked the Executive Committee to put in place a long-term plan for SJSU Judo, the team has been self funded. Annually we have published the financial information in newsletters and now this information will be available on the web site

The SJSU Judo Program survives because of the continued support from our Alumni and friends. Without your contributions our success would not be possible.

We graciously ask that you continue your financial support of our program.

Sincerely,

The San Jose State Judo Team

&

The Judo Executive Committee

Remembering Sensei George Uchida:

Last Year we lost a great friend and mentor of SJSU Judo. Many of you as Alumni of San Jose State University knew Sensei George Uchida. Enclosed is a letter from Dr. Ron Tripp that really highlights Sensei Uchida's life and contributions to the sport of Judo.

This letter and picture will be framed and on display in the SJSU Judo Dojo.

Think About It!

Have you enjoyed and benefited from your experiences with SJSU Judo? Have you made friends that you still see and communicate with over the years? Would you like to see SJSU Judo continue and grow at San Jose State University?

The Coaches ar e committed to continued success.

The Executive Committee is committed to continued success.

We hope you feel the same.
